Our
Story
Where it started...
Alpha Omega Church’s journey began as Full Gospel Northeast (N.E.) Korean Church under the founding leadership of Reverend Moo Sung Yoo, which gathered for worship in Metuchen, NJ.
In 1988, Reverend Joon S. Chang was appointed to take over.
The church began renting and meeting at its current location, deemed as its Mission Center, in Edison, NJ starting in 1994 and has been solely meeting there ever since.
Reverend Chang and his wife faithfully served Full Gospel N.E. Korean Church until 2012 when Reverend Chang went to be with the Lord.
After Reverend Chang’s passing, his wife Sung Ae Chang received God’s calling and enrolled into Assemblies of God Theological School of NY (AGTSONY). Meanwhile, the congregation made a decision through a unanimous vote for her to take over.
Now as an ordained minister, Reverend Sung Ae (Sarah) Chang has been faithfully serving as the Senior Pastor ever since.
After much prayerful consideration, the church decided to change its name to Alpha Omega Church in 2016.
Why Alpha
Omega
Church?
Why the name: Alpha Omega Church?
Biblical Reference: "Alpha" and "Omega" are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. In the Book of Revelation (Revelation 1:8 and 22:13), God identifies Himself as the Alpha and the Omega, symbolizing that He is the beginning and the end of all things. This highlights His eternal nature and sovereignty over creation.
Symbol of Completeness: The name suggests that the Church is focused on guiding and encouraging believers the full scope of the Christian faith—from the beginning of one's spiritual journey towards its ultimate fulfillment in Christ. It signifies that all aspects of life and faith are covered within the Church's mission.
Community and Growth: At Alpha Omega Church, believers come together to grow in faith, experience God’s love, and support one another in their spiritual journeys, reflecting the fullness of God's Word and the Holy Spirit. Overall, it symbolizes a commitment to teaching, community, and the transformational power of faith from start to finish.
